Welcome to Gather Forest School

Gather Forest School is a learning community for children aged 4-12 years old. Our mission is to provide a nature-based education that fosters creativity, curiosity, and a love for the outdoors. Scroll down to learn more about our programs and how we can help your child thrive.

Three Day Program:

At Gather Forest School, we offer a ten-month nature-based program (8:30 am - 12:30 pm). Our three-day program has two components: a play-based Forest Kindergarten program for 4-6-year-olds and our Forest Explorers program for 7-12-year-olds. We provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow. This program concentrates on:

Black-centered curriculum
Hands-on exploration
Creative expression
Plant-based snacks
Homemade teas and nourishment
Science and arts focus
Community cultivation
Sustainable practices
Building strong connections with nature

We meet outdoors Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday 8:30 am - 12:30 pm.

Community Offerings:

Our programs are in beautiful outdoor spaces, providing endless nature exploration and learning opportunities. Our rustic programs are gathering places for community cultivation and a space for children to engage in hands-on activities. Our monthly and seasonal offerings include:

Toddler Times (1-3)
Eco-Exploration (all ages)
Creative Community Learning (9-12)
Soul Care (caregivers)
Saturday School (all ages)

Each cultivated program will include plant-based nourishment, homemade herbal teas, and a Gather instructor.

Virtual Community:

We serve Black families of all socioeconomic backgrounds through our school, programs, and community events. All the information on these events and programs, including admissions, is publicized and offered within our Mighty Network community.
